SmartUtil

This Smart Card Utility is a graphical tool that facilitates testing and deployment of smart cards. We've provided the following modes of operation.

1. Initialize a smart card. This creates the basic filesystem that allows the card to interoperate with the Microsoft Base Smart Card Crypto Provider, as well as with Microsoft Identity Lifecycle Manager 2007.
2. Enumerate the contents of a smart card, including certificates, files, directories, and crypto key names.
3. Delete a smart card. This option removes all crypto keys and user certificates from the card.
4. Clean a smart card. This option removes only expired non-encryption keys and certificates.
5. View and initialize smart card root certificates.

SmartUtil supports cards that implement the card module/mini-driver interface. This includes most cards that are supported by Identity Lifecycle Manager; see the "What smart cards are supported..." question in the FAQ.
